Crossboule is a trend sport created by expanding the leisure variant of the boules game . Boccia was the inspiration for the sport . For Crossboccia this sport was further developed by two Wuppertal students.

regulate

In crossboule, the basic rules of boccia are adhered to, but the choice of the venue is arbitrary. It is not mandatory to play in teams. A point is scored if your own ball could be placed closest to the target ball . If both balls of a player are closest to the target ball, the player wins two points.

With the Crossboule c³ variants there are additional options for scoring more points. So-called combos (chains) can be thrown when a ball that is touched by at least one other ball from the same team touches the target ball.

In contrast to pétanque, there are no invalid target balls. The round is played, regardless of whether the target ball is hidden, under water or far more than 10 meters away.

Specialty

The winner of a point throws the target ball in a freely selectable direction and determines the further location. Unusual terrain (very uneven terrain, water or the like) are definitely welcome and challenge the players' creativity. In this way the crossboule circle moves across the public space.

Bullets

Crossboule can be played both with conventional boule balls and with special crossboule balls. These are specially designed for the game of cross bowls and are filled with plastic granulate, which distinguishes them from the much harder and heavier boccia balls. In general, bullets with a surface that is not too hard are ideal to prevent damage to objects (such as cars).

popularity

So far there is no information about the spread of the sport. However, there is an increasing mention in national media in which the sport is referred to as a trend sport .

On August 13th and 14th, 2011, the first world championship in crossboccia took place in the Duisburg-Nord landscape park . The 2013 World Championship will take place in Wuppertal.
