The Crown Worldwide Group , headquartered in Hong Kong, is a privately owned logistics company.

history

The company was founded in February 1965 by the American Jim Thompson in Yokohama under the name Transport Services International . The company worked for the United States Armed Forces , which transferred personnel between the United States and Japan. The company had annual sales of $ 1 million within the first 5 years . A second location was later opened in Hong Kong. After 1976 the company opened further branches in Asia ( Singapore , Indonesia , Malaysia , Philippines and Taiwan ) and later expanded to other countries in Europe, Africa, Australia and North and South America. At the end of the 1970s, the company's headquarters were relocated to Hong Kong. Jim Thompson is still a director today.

Today the group of companies operates with an annual turnover of 721 million dollars at 266 branches in 54 countries and offers transportation, mobility and relocation services, logistics and warehousing . The divisions include Crown World Mobility , Crown Relocations , Crown Records Management , Crown Fine Art , Crown Logistics and Crown Wine Cellars .
