Crucifix ( English " crucifix ") was a hardcore punk band from the US American Berkeley . It was active from 1980 to 1984. The band members saw themselves as anarchists , and the band is classified as anarcho-punk .

Visually, Crucifix oriented with their Iroquois hairstyles on British punk. Musically, the music journalist and American hardcore producer Steven Blush counts it to the "essence" of California hardcore. The singer Sothira Pheng came from Cambodia , his family fled from the Khmer Rouge .

Since the 2000s, the band has occasionally got back together for individual concerts. Former guitarist Drew Bernstein, who had been a successful fashion designer since the mid-1980s, died of suicide in 2005.
