Adult females of Cryptopsaras couesii can reach a maximum length of 44 cm. Your body is plump and flattened on the sides. Free-living dwarf males were found up to a maximum length of 1.05 cm, while those that were firmly attached were found to be a maximum of 7.3 cm long. Characteristic of the females of the species are three oval flesh warts in front of the dorsal fin, a middle large one and a smaller one to the right and left of it.
