Cufré is a town in the south of Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the eastern part of the Department of Colonia in its sector 5 in the Cuchilla Cufré . The city, located northwest of the Arroyo Cufré , borders directly on the neighboring district of San José . The town of Nueva Helvecia is a few kilometers away in the southwest . The Cuchilla Pavón extends southeast of Cufré on the left side of the Arroyo Cufré .
history
Cufré was given the status of "Pueblo" on July 24, 1929 by Law No. 8.448. Previously, Cufré was the capital of the Sección Judical Puntas del Rosario .
Infrastructure
Cufré is on the Montevideo – Colonia railway line at kilometer 119. The town has a school and a football field. There are also two sacred buildings and a post office in the village. Cufré is connected to the water supply, waste disposal and the electricity and telephone network, and on-site polyclinic supply is guaranteed.
