Jakob Anton Bucher
Jakob Anton Bucher , also Toni Bucher (* 1927 in Hopfgarten im Brixental ; † October 7, 2012 in Vienna ), was an Austrian painter .
Life
After attending primary school, he completed an apprenticeship as a church and decorative painter with Toni Kirchmayr in Innsbruck . In 1947 he went to Vienna with his friend Ludwig Neuhauser. Both studied with Professors Sergius Pauser and Herbert Boeckl at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . Bucher completed his studies with a diploma and the master class prize. During his student days he financed his life with numerous odd jobs. From 1952 Bucher was a freelance artist in Vienna. He made his living partly by copying old masters. In the early 1970s he became a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus , of which he was vice president for two years.
