On October 18, 2018, Correctiv published under CumEx-Files in cooperation with other media from twelve countries research results on European Cum-Ex tax fraud .
Cum Ex is a type of tax evasion , with which 5 European countries have lost more than 62.9 billion US dollars.
The Federal Ministry of Finance had been aware of the CumEx transactions since 2002 at the latest.
