The Curamik Electronics GmbH (proper spelling: curamik electronics GmbH) is an electronics manufacturer from Eschenbach in the Upper Palatinate in Bavaria . The company mainly produces ceramic circuit boards and is the market and technology leader in this segment.

history

When Altan Akyürek, Jutta Hüttlinger and Susanne Akyürek founded the company in 1983, what was then Hüttak Electronics employed only the three founding employees on a factory area of ​​800 square meters. In 1986 Jutta Hüttlinger left, the company was refinanced by Peter Hermann Maier and renamed curamik electronics GmbH. The series production of Direct Copper Bonded (DCB) made of aluminum oxide has now started. In the following years the company continued to expand and in 1990 began selling its own products in the United States and Japan . Altan and Susanne Akyürek left the company in 1992.

In 1993 the dimple design was developed to increase the resistance to temperature changes and the protective edge for multiple-use DCB production. The production of DCB from aluminum nitride began in 1995 and in the following year with microchannel coolers for high-performance laser diodes . In 1997 the first major expansion of the production plant in Eschenbach was made to a production area of ​​10,000 m².

At the end of 2002, 89.4 percent of curamik electronics was taken over by the Austrian Electrovac. Peter Hermann Maier sold his remaining shares in 2005 and left the company. At that time the company had 400 employees.

In January 2011, the American Rogers Corporation acquired 100 percent of curamik electronics GmbH for around 120 million euros. The name was changed in summer 2014. Under the name Rogers Germany GmbH, it forms part of the Power Electronics Solutions Group (PES) in the Rogers Group together with Rolinx Busbars .

Products

Curamik Electronics manufactures products for electrical engineering. The products include various ceramic substrates and DCB coolers.
