Location of the constituency in the metropolitan area of Perth .

Curtin is one of 150 constituencies used to elect the Australian House of Representatives . It is located in the urban area of Perth in the state of Western Australia . The constituency includes the affluent neighborhoods of Claremont , Cottesloe Town , Mosman Park , Nedlands , Subiaco City, and Swanbourne .

It was founded in 1949 and named after the Australian Prime Minister John Curtin .

Since 1998 Julie Bishop of the Liberal Party of Australia has been the incumbent MP for the constituency.
