Coordinates: 31 ° 59 ′ S , 115 ° 45 ′ E The Town of Cottesloe is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . Cottesloe belongs to the metropolis of Perth , the capital of Western Australia. The area is four square kilometers and has about 7600 inhabitants (2016).
Cottesloe is located on Australia's west coast north of the Swan River and is about seven to ten kilometers from Perth city center. The seat of the Town Council is in the district of Cottesloe, where about 7400 inhabitants live (2016).

The Cottesloe Council has eleven members, ten councilors are elected by the residents of the four wards (four from the North and two each from the Central, East and South Ward). The mayor (mayor) and council chairman is also elected by all residents of the town.
