Cyborg is an instrumental album by the German musician Klaus Schulze , which was recorded in 1973.
It represents a milestone in the music of Klaus Schulze, as the artist used synthesizers for the first time, which should be decisive for his musical future. Before that he used electronic organs and distorted tape recordings from an orchestra for his music - his first album Irrlicht therefore had more elements of musique concrete .
The album was released with two different covers . The original version is a photo montage by Peter Geitner in which Schulze himself can be seen against a background covered with red and black patterns. This cover was also varied and the artist name and album title moved from the picture itself in a white frame that surrounds it. When it was re-published on the Brain label in 1975, a surrealist oil painting by Urs Amann was used, who had also painted the cover for Irrlicht in 1972 .
