Cyriacus Prucker (Prugger) OSB († 1517 in Frauenzell ) was a German Benedictine in Reichenbach Abbey , administrator Kloster Metten and later Abbot in Frauenzell Abbey .

biography

After repeated episcopal visitations, Cyriacus Prucker from the Reichenbach Reform Abbey was sent to Metten by Bishop Ruprecht II of Regensburg and appointed coadjutor of the decrepit Abbot Pankratius Kammerer. He should introduce the Chancellor reform in Metten . He was supported by two confreres from Reichenbach, the prior P. Wolfgang and P. Jakob Prem . Cyriacus Prucker continued the administration in Metten after the death of Abbot Pankratius Kämmerer until 1496, as it was obviously not possible to determine a successor for the deceased abbot. Apparently only when Cyriacus Prucker complained that his two Reichenbacher confreres had been withdrawn and that he had remained alone in Metten, a new election was scheduled.

When Jakob Prem, who had been appointed abbot in Frauenzell monastery in 1499, was appointed abbot in Biburg monastery in 1505 , Cyriacus Prucker followed him as abbot in Frauenzell. The new abbot successfully endeavored to confirm the assets and privileges of the monastery that had been endangered again and again in the previous period. Overall, his administration contributed to a flourishing of the small monastery. However, under his successors, the monastery soon found itself in a difficult position again.
