Czesław Adam Siekierski

Czesław Adam Siekierski (born October 8, 1952 in Stopnica ) is a Polish politician of the Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe .

Siekierski, a graduate engineer and doctor of agricultural economics, worked as a lecturer at the Warsaw Agricultural University after completing his first degree . From 1971 to 1977 he was an activist in the student movement and rural youth, after which he joined several societies. In the early 1980s he headed the organization department in the management committee of the Zjednoczone Stronnictwo Ludowe . Later he was director of the Foundation for Aid Programs in Agriculture. In 1999 he became managing director and member of the board at PSL.

Siekierski sat from 1986 to 1990 in the council of the Warsaw city district Mokotów . From 1997 to 2004 he was a member of the Sejm , from 2001 to 2003 State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. In 2003 he was appointed observer in the European Parliament , and since Poland joined the EU in 2004 he has been a full member of Parliament.
