Jonathan Sandoval , full name Jonathan Alexis Sandoval Rojas (born June 25, 1987 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

The 1.76 meter tall defender Sandoval was at least from the Apertura 2006 in the first division squad River Plate Montevideos . In that half series he came to a use in the Primera División . At the club from the Montevidean Barrio Prado he played until the Clausura 2008. In the Apertura 2008 he ran on loan for the then second division Sud América in four league matches and scored five goals. He then moved back to Uruguay's top division and played 13 league games (no goal) in the Clausura 2009 for Cerro Largo FC , which he had joined on the basis of a loan deal with River Plate Montevideo in January 2009. After he was in the Apertura that year again twice for River Plate Montevideo in the league and once in the Copa Sudamericana , he was now under contract with the Montevideo Wanderers . From the Clausura 2011 on, he played 60 first division games for the Bohemios , in which he scored eight goals. For the 2013/14 season he moved to the reigning Uruguayan champions Club Atlético Peñarol . For the Aurinegros he completed ten games (no goal) in the Primera División by the end of the season and came to the train three times in the Copa Libertadores and once in the Copa Sudamericana. In the 2014/15 season he was used eleven times (one goal) in the top Uruguayan league and once (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana 2014 . During the 2015/16 season he only came to another first division (no goal), but won the Apertura 2015 with the team. In the first days of January 2016, he moved within the league to Liverpool Montevideo . In the 2016 Clausura, he completed 15 top division games there (no goal). From mid-July 2016 he continued his career in Argentina with the Argentinos Juniors . So far (as of February 10, 2017) he has been used in nine games of the Primera B Nacional with the Argentines and scored two goals.
