Dávid Janiczak (born March 4, 1987 in Ózd ) is a Hungarian politician of Polish origin. As a member of the Jobbik party , he has been the mayor of Ózd since 2014.

Life

He attended the secondary school Bertalan Szemere and the Károly-Eszterházy-Hochschule. Janiczak has been involved in politics from a young age , but he did not join the party until 2009. He was vice-president of Jobbik in Ózd and founder after its dissolution in 2012. In his private life he is an amateur poet, his lyrical texts have even been awarded a prize in Hungary.

As mayor

In the mayoral election in Ózd, Janiczak got 66 votes more than his predecessor Pál Fürjes ( FIDESZ - KDNP ). According to Fürjes, however, there were five more votes in the polls than those entitled to vote who also voted. Government delegates have also alleged illegality in the counting of votes, and witnesses have alleged that a candidate promised material consideration to voters. Pál Fürjes therefore sued the result. In the newly announced election, Janiczak received more than two thirds of the votes, in total he had about five thousand more votes than Fürjes. On election night, more than a thousand people welcomed the results of the new elections and accompanied Janiczak to the town hall in a festive mood.
