The Danish Industrial Museum, which opened in 1977, is located in Horsens on the site of a former electricity and gas works. A very extensive exhibition on industrial and work culture in Denmark from 1850 onwards is shown. In the main hall there are functional diesel engines of various sizes and the switchboard of the former power station.

In the other rooms, exhibitions on the following techniques are shown: lithography , letterpress , printing typesetting with Linotype typesetting machines , beer brewing , bookbinding , tobacco cultivation and cigar production as well as clog production . There is a fully furnished museum street on the upper floor with replicas of shops as they looked in Denmark in the 1950s : butcher , hairdresser , clothing store and radio dealer. An old telephone exchange for manual switching with a few connected devices is ready for use and can be tried out by the visitor.

Outside there is a functional forge , which is usually heated up on opening days. Furthermore, two small former workers' houses are set up in such a way that each floor shows the furnishings from the various epochs from 1850 to 1998.

There are two outside halls: one with around two dozen horse-drawn vehicles and another hall for temporary exhibitions.
