Dörte Haftendorn (born March 25, 1948 in Würzburg ) is a German mathematician. She was professor of mathematics and didactics at the Leuphana University of Lüneburg .

Live and act

Haftendorn studied mathematics and physics at the Technical University in Clausthal from 1966 and graduated in 1971 from the state examination for a higher teaching degree . In 1972 she became a qualified mathematician. Within the next two years she did her PhD on the subject of "Additive idempotent half rings with factor condition", an area of ​​pure algebra .

From 1976 she taught at the Johanneum Lüneburg . In addition to teaching at the grammar school, Haftendorn also moved back to the University of Applied Sciences and the University of Lüneburg. In addition to her (professional) teaching posts, she also taught computer scientists and engineers there. From 2000 she was allowed to hold the title of honorary professor in addition to her doctorate. As of 2002, Haftendorn had a full position at the University of Lüneburg. She was responsible for the mathematics department of vocational schools.

On September 30, 2013, Haftendorn retired, but continues to work as a lecturer at Leuphana University.
