Dürrenastheide in June: A poor meadow with rattling pots , adder heads and forest pines

The Dürrenastheide is part of the Lechtalheiden landscape of Augsburg . It is part of the Stadtwald Augsburg nature reserve and is located in the Haunstetten-Siebenbrunn planning area east of the university district. It is crossed by the Lochbach . After initially planning in the mid-1980s to convert the area into a green area, this plan was discarded for reasons of nature conservation. Instead, regular mowing and maintenance of the biotope areas took place. Particularly noteworthy is the occurrence of the common needle rose and its use as a drinking water protection area. The area extends to a height of 489  m above sea level. NHN up to 496  m above sea level NHN .

The animal species represented include butterflies and beetles as well as many endangered bird species. The flora also consists of rare species such as the silver thistle or the fringed gentian .
