The Düshorner Lake is a quarry pond in Düshorn , a district of Walsrode , Heidekreis , Lower Saxony . The lake is about 2 km outside of Düshorn.
The lake was created around 1960 as part of the construction of the federal motorway 27 . On July 20, 1964, the council decided to provide funds for the construction of a lido. The lido was built in 1966 and operated for several decades until, in 2002, plans were finally presented to convert the lido into a natural open-air pool without diving facilities and showers.
In 2004 the sponsoring association “Strandbad Düshorn e. V. “, who took over the operation of the lido. Today the lake is a monitored bathing water , which is recorded in the bathing water atlas Lower Saxony of the Lower Saxony State Health Office under the name "Strandbad - Düshorn". Swimming is permitted over a width of 30 m. There is also a restaurant by the lake.
