GDR weightlifting championships 1949
The 1st GDR weightlifting championships (officially: East Zone Championships ) took place a few days after the founding of the GDR on October 7, 1949, on October 16, 1949 in Greiz (medium, light and heavyweight) and on October 23, 1949 in the sports hall of the Berliner Glühlampenwerk (bantam, feather and lightweight). The all-round result in the Olympic three-way fight consisting of tearing, pushing and pushing was evaluated .
