DFS 331

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The DFS 331 was a planned military cargo glider for the German Research Institute for Gliding (DFS).

Drawing of the DFS 331

The aircraft was developed in cooperation with the Gothaer Waggonfabrik as a high capacity cargo glider. The aircraft had been designed as a strutted shoulder-wing monoplane in composite construction with a double tail unit. The take-off should take place on a detachable two-wheeled chassis, the landing on swiveling runners. The tail area could be folded up towards the trailing edge of the wing. There were two entrances on the port side. Only one copy was made.
