The Kaadner local railways (tschech .: Kadaňské místní Railways ) was a private local railway - stock company in today's Czech Republic . She was the owner of the state-guaranteed local railways between Kadaň ( Kaaden ) and Vilémov ( Willomitz ) or Radonice ( Radonitz ) and Doupov ( Duppau ) in northwestern Bohemia . The company was based in Prague.

The concession for the local railways Kaaden – Willomitz and Radonitz – Duppau was granted on December 22nd, 1900 by Reich law. The concessionaires were the gentlemen “ Dr. Franz Waldert, lawyer in Prague, Gustav Ritter Hodek von Zelevic, sugar manufacturer in Fünfhunden and Ferdinand Stamm, mine owner in Fünfhunden ”. The concessionaires were obliged to “ begin the construction of the concessioned railways immediately after receiving the building consense, to complete them within a maximum of two years from the present day and to hand over the finished railways to public transport, as well as to keep them in uninterrupted operation for the entire duration of the concession . “The duration of the concession was set at 90 years. The state also reserved the right to redeem the licensed railway at any time.

The share capital of the joint stock company Kaadner Lokalbahnen totaled 1,299,000 kroner . 5,413 common shares were issued at 200 kroner each and 1,082 priority shares at 200 kroner each.

The routes were opened on November 10, 1902 (Radonitz – Duppau) and August 1, 1903 (Kaaden – Willomitz). The operation was carried out by the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB) for the account of Kaadner Lokalbahnen . After the First World War, the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD took the place of the kkStB .

On January 1, 1925, the Kaadner local railways were nationalized by law and the lines were integrated into the ČSD network.

Locomotives

A total of four locomotives of the tried and tested kkStB series 97 were procured on behalf of Kaadner Lokalbahnen . The locomotives had the road numbers 97.127, 223, 226 and 227. The 97.227 (ČSD 310.0118) remained as a museum locomotive. It has belonged to the National Technical Museum in Prague since 1967 and is part of the permanent exhibition in the museum's transport department.
