Taper pin

A taper pin is a conical pin that is used as a connecting element in mechanical engineering . Pressing into a tapered bore creates a frictional connection that can be released again.

In Germany, on March 1, 1918, the conical pin received the first DIN standard , DIN 1, from the standards committee of German industry (today the German Institute for Standardization ) . This standard was withdrawn in 1992 and replaced by the European standard EN 22339.

Tapered pins belong to the standard part type pins . According to the standard DIN 1 is a taper pin which has taper ratio or on adjacent picture based (Fig. 2) . ${\displaystyle \textstyle {\frac {D-d}{l}}={\frac {1}{50}}\,}$ ${\displaystyle \textstyle {\frac {d_{2}-d_{1}}{l}}={\frac {1}{50}}\,}$
