DJ Laz (real name Lazaro Mendez ) is an American - Cuban rapper and DJ from Miami, Florida. His music can be assigned to the genres Miami Bass and Reggaeton .
Life
At the age of 15, DJ Laz started working as a DJ in clubs in South Florida. Regional radio stations took notice of him and so he became the presenter of the DJ Laz Morning Show on WPOW (96.5 MHz) and also took a position at WHQT (105.1 MHz). Laz then signed a contract with Pandisc Records and released his first album in 1991 featuring DJ Laz featuring Mami El Negro . To date he has released nine albums and 18 singles, only Move Shake Drop , which he recorded with Flo Rida, Casely and Pitbull, was able to reach 56th place on the Billboard Hot 100 . April 2012 DJ Laz announced that he would quit his job as a radio host at WPOW after 22 years. A short time later, however, it was announced that he would continue the DJ Laz Morning Show on WRMA (106.7 MHz).
