The DKW SB 200 motorcycle was manufactured in the DKW factory in Zschopau . It was a further development of the DKW Block 200 (TB 200) with an extended wheelbase (luxury version) and a reinforced pressed steel frame. The SB 200 had a single-cylinder two-stroke engine with a displacement of 192  cm³ . It was generally painted black, except for army and other state motorcycles.

Types

Two types of the SB 200 were built, the first version in the period from 1933 to 1936 and the second from 1936 to 1938. Luxury versions were also produced for the respective types, including a Dynastarter , a 100-watt lighting system, chrome-plated, removable Have mufflers, tachometers and clocks as fittings, the second version also had a combined hand / foot switch, whereby the hand lever on the tank was guided in a backdrop. A total of around 60,400 machines were produced (20,400 short version and 40,000 long version).

Type 1

The SB 200 was based on the Block 200 and was only changed in the first model series in details such as the handlebars, the hand levers and the drive shock absorber. The drive shock absorber in the engine block caused a smooth start-up and supported driving comfort when changing gears. The luxury version of the SB 200 had a chrome-plated tank.
