José Peris Aragó

José Peris Aragó (born August 21, 1907 in Alboraya ; † November 9, 2003 ibid) was a Spanish poster artist and painter .

Peris Aragó was a student at the “San Carlos” art school in Valencia and fought on the side of the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War . As a member of the Alianza de Intelectuales Antifascistas he created a number of posters with political content. After its end, he began making poster designs for the film production company CIFESA . By the end of his career he had been able to design over 500 film posters.

In addition, Peris Aragó v. a. Still life and nature scenes. The cultural center of his home village was named after him.
