The DLG exhibitions have been organized by the German Agricultural Society since 1887 .

The first exhibition took place in Frankfurt am Main . After that, the locations changed annually. The entire agricultural spectrum for indoor and outdoor trade was shown. Many manufacturers are showing their innovations here for the first time. The animal shows were an integral part of every exhibition and the animals were awarded prizes. The Boar Robust M 301 received awards at three shows.

From 1973 a separate exhibition was organized for the areas of pig and poultry production with Huhn & Schwein , so that only capital goods and operating supplies for cattle production and arable farming were shown in the following DLG exhibitions .

From 1985 the DLG exhibition was replaced by the specialist exhibitions EuroTier (which from 1993 showed all animal husbandry including cattle production), Agritechnica and Anuga FoodTec , which are also organized by the German Agricultural Society.
