The EuroTier in Hanover is the world's largest specialist exhibition (trade fair) for animal husbandry and management. It has been organized by the German Agricultural Society since 1993 . It takes place every two years in late autumn.

Exhibition areas and history

The first EuroTier took place in 1993. The fair is sponsored by the DLG German Agricultural Society and carried out by DLG Service GmbH. Since 1996, the fair has been held every two years in November, alternating with Agritechnica at the Hanover exhibition center . The fair claims global importance and influence on technical developments in animal husbandry. In addition to cattle , pork , poultry and products for all animal species, the main exhibition areas are the EnergyDecentral exhibition , which has been taking place since 2006 and focuses on renewable raw materials and decentralized energy supply.

The exhibition areas are structured as follows:

In 2006, “BioEnergy Europe” was established under the umbrella of EuroTier, which since 2010 has been known as “BioEnergy Decentral” (since 2014 “EnergyDecentral”). It is currently the world's largest trade fair for technology and services related to energy and decentralized energy supply.

EuroTier 2006

EuroTier 2006 counted around 116,000 visitors (of which almost 17,000 from abroad) and 1,488 exhibitors from 39 countries. The exhibition area (gross) was approx. 130,000 m².

EuroTier 2008

130,000 visitors (22,000 from abroad) came to EuroTier 2008, with around 1,800 exhibitors (42% of them from abroad) on 170,000 m² of exhibition space.

EuroTier 2010

In 2010, around 140,000 visitors came to EuroTier and 1,926 exhibitors presented themselves at the fair (40% of them from abroad).

EuroTier 2012

At EuroTier 2012, the number of exhibitors rose by 25% to 2,445. The exhibition space also grew by over 30% to over 250,000 m² in 16 halls on the exhibition grounds. 160,000 visitors from 100 countries also meant a visitor record and a 10% increase in the number of visitors. There were around 38,000 visitors from abroad.

EuroTier 2014

EuroTier 2014, which took place from November 11th to 14th, had 156,566 visitors and 2,368 exhibitors.

EuroTier 2016

The EuroTier 2016 took place from November 15th to 18th. With 162,729 visitors and 2,638 exhibitors on 283,000 m², the fair was bigger than ever before.

EuroTier 2018

EuroTier 2018 took place from November 13th to 16th. 155,000 visitors, 30% of them from abroad, met 2,597 exhibitors.

EuroTier 2020

EuroTier 2020 was originally planned from November 17th to 20th, 2020. Due to the Corona crisis , it was on the 9th-12th February 2021 postponed.

EuroTier trade fairs abroad

Under the "EuroTier" brand, the organizer DLG eV ( German Agricultural Society ) has been offering three trade fairs in other continents together with local partners since 2019:

  • in the MENA region (Abu Dhabi) "EuroTier Middle East"
  • in South America (Brazil) "AveSui EuroTier South America"
  • in China "EuroTier China"
