Stamp of the DO-X-Post for January 30th, 1931

The DO-X-Post is one of the best-known areas of German aerophilia . This term encompasses mail that was transported on the airship Dornier Do X in the 1930s . The mail was handled by a specially set up post office for Flugschiff Do X and has special stamps that are attractive to collectors . For the individual flights or stages, there is DO-X Post with confirmation stamp, board stamp and drop post .

Some postal administrations issued their own postage stamps on the occasion of the DO-X visit. Suriname issued seven special stamps with the imprint Vlucht / DO-X / 1931 . The Newfoundland Post Office gave a stamp for the return flight with the imprint TRANSATLANTIK / WEST TO EAST / Per Dornier / DO-X / May 1932 / One Dollar and Fifty Cents , which has become a rarity due to its low circulation.
