DSiWare (sometimes called Nintendo DSi Shop ) was a download service from Nintendo that was integrated into the Nintendo DSi . For a fee, users could download games known as Nintendo Points to their handhelds.

The service started in Europe on April 3, 2009. The games cost 200, 500, 800 or more Nintendo Points, with an RRP of € 1 per 100 points. Sometimes there is also free software to download.

It is not possible to transfer the games to another DSi system, but a transfer to the 3DS is possible. By transferring the DSiWare, the rights to play the respective game are transferred to the receiving device and the associated Nintendo eShop account. The game and the game data will be deleted from the SD card of the transmitter and can no longer be downloaded to it without a new purchase.

On March 31, 2016, Nintendo announced that it would close the Nintendo DSi Shop in 2017 after eight years. The possibility to redeem DSi Points was given until September 30, 2016. All unredeemed points will expire on March 31, 2017. The ability to re-download Nintendo DSiWare will also be discontinued.
