The Da-Bach-na-Fahrt is part of the carnival tradition in Schramberg . In a kind of parade on the water ride at the Rose Monday 40 Zuber with two people on board the creek Berneck ( Schiltach ) down ( alemannisch na ) and be cheered by about 30,000 visitors.

The Da-Bach-na-Fahrt originated in 1936 as a protest by the Young Parliament, an association of citizens 'sons who were in opposition to the established representatives of the fools' guild.

procedure

Around three weeks before the actual Da-Bach-Na trip, the forty teams receive a wooden brewing tub, which they then cover with roof battens, cardboard boxes and paper mache. Until 1951, other metal vessels, bathtubs or, as in 1949, even an aircraft tank from a World War II bomber were sometimes used instead of tubs, but this has no longer been allowed. The so-called Zuberkapitäne usually choose a local, regional or national motto. At the Da-Bach-na-Fahrt 2015 these were among other things: “Da Euro goes there Bach-na”, “25 Years Fall of the Wall” or “Stone Age in Schramberg”.

On the day before the Da-Bach-Na-Fahrt, the Da-Bach-Na-Driver baptism takes place in the finish area at the St. Maria Church at 8 p.m., during which the new Zuber captains are baptized in the ice-cold Schiltach.

On Rose Monday, the day begins for the Da-Bach-Na drivers with the tub presentation at 10 a.m. at the finish area of the canal cruise. Afterwards, starting at 11 a.m., the teams will move upriver through the city center with their decorated tubs to the starting point.

The actual journey on the Schiltach begins at 1 p.m. and usually takes between five and twelve minutes, depending on the water level and the ability to drive. Up to 30,000 people flock to the banks of the Schiltach to cheer on the teams. The first and the last tub are kept without any decoration and are reminiscent of the companions from the beginnings of the Da-Bach-na trip.

In the evening from 8 p.m. the Da-Bach-Na-Driver-Ball takes place, in which the winning tub is chosen for the most beautiful, most creative structure. The “Patsch-Nass-Orden” will also be awarded to the most spectacularly failed team.

Influence on the Schramberger Fasnet

The Schramberg fool's figure of the “Da-Bach-Na-Fahrers” was created in 1939 under the name of the “Bach-Hansel” and in 1955 was recognized and accepted into the Hansel ordinance of the Schramberg fools' guild.

In 1954, the Schramberger Narrenmarsch was subsequently supplemented by a verse that mentions the Da-Bach-Na-Fahrt.

The Schramberg fool's fountain shows two fools in a tub. The work of art, inaugurated in 1997, shows the close ties between the fools and their unique customs.

Others

The television series Die Fallers - Eine Schwarzwaldfamilie first integrated the Da-Bach-Na-Fahrt into their plot in 1998, and also in the following years, including 2002, the film team returned to Schramberg to work for the series at the Da- Turning Bach-Na-Fahrt.
