Two qiaos

The two Qiaos are literary characters in Luo Guanzhong's novel The Tale of the Three Kingdoms . They are the daughters of Qiao Xuan and are considered the great beauties of Imperial China . Because their names have not been passed down, they are called Qiao the older ( Chinese  大橋  /  大桥 , Pinyin Dà Qiáo ) and Qiao the younger ( Chinese  小橋  /  小桥 , Pinyin Xiǎo Qiáo ).

The older Qiao sister marries the warlord Sun Ce and gives birth to a daughter who is later married to Lu Xun . The younger sister marries Sun C's friend and brother-in-arms Zhou Yu , with whom she has three children: Zhou Xun, Zhou Yin and Zhou Ying.

In the novel, the strategist Zhuge Liang also uses the Qiao sisters to get Zhou Yu to mobilize against Cao Cao . He made him believe that Cao Cao intended to take over the Qiao sisters. In alliance with Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong , Zhou Yu then prepared the battle of Chibi .
