Da Uzi (* 1994 in Sevran , Seine-Saint-Denis ; real Davy Ngoma Di Malonda ) is a French rapper .

life and career

Da Uzi grew up in the Paris suburb of Sevran, a place where other greats of the French rap scene come from, including Kaaris and Maes . Little is known about its past prior to its commercial breakthrough. From 2014 to 2016 the rapper was imprisoned several times and began to publish his own rap freestyles called La D en personne in January 2017 . At the end of 2017 he signed a record deal with the music label Rec 118 , part of Warner Music , and released the Freestyle series as a mixtape for the first time in 2018. The project also includes collaborations with Maes and the 13 Block group. In the course of the collaboration with Ninho in September 2018, Da Uzi's chart debut followed. The single Entre les murs was placed at number 62 on the French single charts. On January 18, 2019, Di Malonda's third mixtape Mexico followed , which reached number five on the French album charts. In the first week, the project was able to sell over 5,700 units and by March 2020 had sold over 40,000 units. With the release of his debut album Architecte on April 3, 2020, he jumped straight to the top of the French album charts . The included collaboration with Ninho Crois-moi also reached number three in the single charts. In the first week of sales, almost 9,800 units of the album were sold.
