Maes

Maes (born January 10, 1995 in Villepinte , Seine-Saint-Denis ; real name Walid Georgey ) is a French rapper of Moroccan origin.

life and career

Born on January 10, 1995, the rapper grew up with his five brothers and two sisters in the Les Beaudottes district of the northern French city of Sevran . At the age of 14 he started rapping professionally and founded the group MSR . After completing his school career, he spent 18 months in prison from 2016 to 2017. During this time his first project called Réelle vie appeared . His first mixtape was continued on March 2, 2018 with the release of Réelle vie 2.0 . A short time later he signed a record deal with the Millenium label, an offshoot of Capitol Music France . With the single Billets verts he celebrated his first success in the charts in the summer of 2018. The collaboration with Booba Madrina reached number one in the French singles charts in November 2018 . His debut album Pure was released on November 30, 2018 and immediately reached number five on the French album charts. In the first week alone, the project sold over 17,000 units. His second studio album Les derniers salopards was released in January 2020 and included collaborations with Booba, Ninho and Jul .
