Villepinte is a French city in the Seine-Saint-Denis department in the Île-de-France region with 36,830 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and is located around 18 km northeast of the center of Paris . The inhabitants are called Villepintois .
The communes of Tremblay-en-France , Aulnay-sous-Bois , Sevran , Vaujours and Gonesse border Villepinte .
history
The old town center ( "le Vieux-Pays" ) of the village, which has been documented since the 9th century and originally characterized by agriculture , has largely retained its historical character.
Thanks to the convenient transport links, industry and trade have settled here since the 1960s and new housing estates have emerged. The Paris-Nord exhibition center ( Parc des Expositions ) has also been located here since 1981 .
The population of Villepinte has increased almost fivefold since the 1960s, and as in most places on the Parisian banlieue , the newly built housing estates are home to numerous immigrants (they make up around 23% of the municipality's population):

Villepinte is located on the A104 autoroute and is practically divided into two parts; it is also in the catchment area of Le Bourget Airport and Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport . Via the S-Bahn line RER B , Villepinte is connected to Charles de Gaulle Airport and downtown via the stations Villepinte (branch B3), Parc des Expositions (branch B3) and Le Vert-Galant (branch B5) Paris connected.
