Daf Jomi
Daf Jomi ( Hebrew דף היומי( Daily Page, Leaf of the Day ) is a daily program of study of the Talmud in which the 2,711 pages of the Babylonian Talmud are continuously studied.
The study program was introduced by Jehuda Mair Schapira .
Shapira introduced this study program in 1923 and presented the idea of Daf haJomi at the first World Congress of World Agudath Israel in Vienna on August 16, 1923. The first cycle of Daf Yomi began on the first day of Rosh Hashanah 5684 (September 11, 1923).
