Dagersheim is a district of the district town of Böblingen in Baden-Württemberg .
The place is west of Böblingen on the left and right banks of the Schwippe . Darmsheim , a district of Sindelfingen , joins to the east of Dagersheim .
history
Settlement of Dagersheim can be proven from the 7th century. The grave finds in the areas of Berggasse , Hauptstraße and Geranienstraße indicate the settlement by the Alemanni .
The first documentary mention of Dagersheim is in a document from the landowner Luitprand von Hausen in 1075, in which he donated three Hufen (farm units) to the Hirsau Monastery.
The Via Rheni (German: Rheinstrasse) documented in 1191 , part of an important north-south connection from the Rhineland via the Swabian Alb to Upper Swabia and from there over the Alps to Italy, crossed the Schwippe river on a ford in the center of Dagersheim . In 1964 the town hall was built over the rock at this point.
On September 1, 1971 Dagersheim was incorporated into the city of Böblingen.

Description of coat of arms
Dagersheim has a historical coat of arms, which is still used today alongside the city coat of arms of the core city of Böblingen. It shows a crowned red snake with a simply twisted body; the animal's outstretched tongue is black and forked. The background of the animal is formed by a white three-lobed mountain range, between which the multi-jagged Dagersheimer Morgenstern (Dagersheim - “day-appear!”) Rises. The coat of arms composition goes back to the late Middle Ages.
Mayor
Alessandra Hütter has been the new mayor of Dagersheim since June 2019. Born in Herrenberg, she succeeds Hannes Bewersdorff.
Culture and sights
Buildings and cultural monuments
Tithe barn
The tithe barn was previously used for the delivery and storage of the tax in kind, the so-called tithe . The Dagersheimer Zehntscheuer was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1568. Due to the poor structural condition, it was rebuilt in 1800. In 1993 the tithe barn was completely renovated and converted into a community center.
Evangelical Church of St. Agathe
The church, built in 1491 in late Gothic style, is centrally located on the Dagersheim market square and can be seen from afar with its 36 m high defense tower. The cone chest organ, built by the organ builder Carl Gottlieb Weigle in 1857, is the oldest playable organ in the region.
Former town hall
The listed former town hall, which has served as a district office since the incorporation in 1971, is located in the old town center, opposite the Protestant church above the Schwippe and thus connects the two districts of Dagersheim in terms of urban development. The building houses the local council, the citizens' office, the pension office, the registry office and the city youth council.
