In Portuguese casinos it is offered under the name Cussec .

Sic Bo may have spread to China from Shanghai and was brought to the United States by Chinese immigrants in the early 20th century .

The rules of the game

The players make their bets on a tableau, then the croupier turns a cage-like container ( birdcage ) in which three dice are enclosed. When the dice are rolled, the croupier types in the rolled numbers on a keyboard and the fields with the winning bets light up. Losses are confiscated, profits are paid out and a new coup begins.

Simple opportunities

  • Big and Small
The game owes one of its many names to the bets on a low or high total, such as Sic Bo in the famous Casino Lisboa in Macau, the Monte Carlo of the Far East, Big and Small or Chinese (Cantonese) Dai Siu . Another apparently Chinese name of the game is Hi Lo , which easily reveals the English root High Low .
Big and Small are easy odds, similar to Passe and Manque in roulette ; With a bank advantage of 2.78%, these are among the most promising bets:
With Small you bet that the total will be less than or equal to 10 and no triple will be thrown; In the same way, you bets on Big that the total is greater than or equal to 11 and that no triple is scored.

Multiple opportunities

  • Specific triple : You bet on a specific triple, e.g. B. 2-2-2; Payout 190: 1; Bank advantage 11.6%.
  • Any Triple : You bet that three of the same number will be rolled; Payout 33: 1; Bank advantage of 5.6%.
  • Specific Double : You bet that a certain number will appear on two dice; Payout 11: 1; Bank advantage 11.1%.
  • Domino Combination : You bet on two specific numbers and win if both numbers are thrown; Payout 6: 1; 2.8% bank advantage.
  • Total Sum Combination : Here you bet on the total of the three dice; it applies
    • Total 4: payout 65: 1, bank advantage 8.3%
    • Total 5: Payout 33: 1, bank advantage 5.6%
    • Total 6: Payout 19: 1, bank advantage 7.4%
    • Total 7: Payout 12: 1, bank advantage 9.7%
    • Total 8: Payout 8: 1, bank advantage 12.5%

    • Total 16: Payout 33: 1, bank advantage 5.6%
    • Total 17: Payout 65: 1, bank advantage 8.3%
The payout percentages for these types of bets vary from casino to casino, the table above corresponds to the regulations of Casinos Austria .
Since the totals 3 and 18 can only be thrown as triples, namely as 1-1-1 or 6-6-6, they do not appear again in the Total Sum Combinations , they can already be found under the Specific Triples .
  • Single die
With the bet on single die , the old Grand Hazard or Chuck a Luck (German for "lucky throw") lives on. One relies on a certain number, z. B. 5; If this number appears on one die, you win simply, if the number you have occupied appears on two dice, you win twice, and in the lucky case that the number appears on all three dice you win 12: 1, the bank advantage here is 3 , 70%.
With the classic Chuck a Luck - and especially in the casinos of Atlantic City and Las Vegas - you only get a 3: 1 win instead of a 12: 1 win in the case of a triple of the number wagered, which gives a bank advantage of 7.9% results. When it comes to other bets, the American casinos mostly offer significantly lower odds than the European casinos.

Differences from the original Chuck a Luck

The Sic Bo casino game , which emerged from Chuck a Luck - and is therefore often referred to by this name - differs from it on the one hand in the large number of additional betting options and better odds, but on the other hand in the fact that the original game is very different often instead of eye dice, dice with special symbols such as crown, anchor, etc. are used.
