Daily Butterfly ( Japanese 日 々 蝶 々 , Hibi Chōchō ) is a manga series by Sū Morishita , which was published in Japan from 2012 to 2015. The work can be classified into the genres Shōjo , Romanticism and Drama and has been translated into several languages.

The student Suiren Shibazeki ( 柴 石 す い れ ん ) is very popular with both boys and girls, but feels that this is a burden. By the time she started high school, she developed into a withdrawn, shy girl who tends to avoid others. Her only friend is Aya Shimizu ( 清水 あ や ). In the new school, too, she immediately receives the unwanted attention of her classmates, only Taichi Kawasumi ( 川 澄 泰 一 ) shows no interest in her. As Suiren later learns, the quiet karate athlete himself has problems speaking to girls. But when Suiren is harassed by another boy, Kawasumi comes to her aid. And so he arouses her interest and she falls in love with him. But due to their shyness, it takes a long time and requires the help of their friends that Kawasumi and Suiren become a couple.

The series first appeared in Japan from February 2012 to June 2015 in Margaret magazine published by Shueisha . He later brought out the chapters in 12 volumes. All 12 volumes were published by Altraverse in German translation from August 2018 to June 2020 . The translator is Constanze Thede. An Italian and a French version are published by Planet Manga and a Chinese version by Ever Glory Publishing .

The twelfth and final volume sold more than 130,000 copies in Japan in the first three weeks after publication in October 2015. In the Kono Manga ga Sugoi! In 2013, the series landed in fourth place among female readers. In a survey of Japanese bookstore employees, Daily Butterfly was ranked 9th among recommendations. For the Kōdansha Manga Prize , the series was nominated in the Shōjo category, but could not win a prize.
