Daim is a confectionery that is manufactured by the food manufacturer Mondelēz International and sold in Germany by Genuport Trade GmbH. Daim consists of a thin layer of butter and almond caramel on the inside , surrounded by milk chocolate.

The snack originally developed by the Swedish chocolate company Marabou was initially only sold in the Scandinavian countries Norway and Sweden , where it was launched on the market in 1953 under the name Dajm . In the course of time, Daim developed into a best seller, which found a market as far as Japan . In 1971, the Daim Duo double packaging came onto the market , followed by a small version called Daim Mini in 1974 . In Germany, in addition to the bonbon-like Daim Minis , Daim is now also available as Daim 1 and Daim 2 bars and as a 100 g bag of Daim Dragees .

At the end of the 1980s, Daim's packaging underwent a color change. The original dark brown gave way to an intense red. Finally, in 1990, the product name was also changed in Scandinavia from Dajm to Daim , which is now the market-wide distribution name.

All Daim products are made exclusively in Sweden, in the municipality of Upplands Väsby north of Stockholm .
