The Genuport Trade GmbH is one of Germany's largest import - Marketing - and sales company for international brand products in the field of consumption and food . Its portfolio includes products from the categories of sweet pastries, chocolate , sugar confectionery and fresh candy , salty snacks, drinks, canned goods, breakfast products, functional food, frozen food and delicatessen products. Genuport currently controls the sales and marketing of over 50 major national and international food brands. The company imports goods worldwide from companies such as Mondelēz International , Wander AG and Roland Murten AG and then sells them to retailers in Germany.
In addition to importing and selling international food brands, Genuport has specialized in brand management.
history
The company was established in 1949 by Guntram Peiser under the name Messrs. Peiser & Co founded. In 1971 the company merged with other German food importers to form Genuport Genussmittel Import GmbH & Co. KG . In 1989 Uwe Lebens became another managing director alongside Guntram Peiser. In the mid-1990s, Lebens acquired the Genuport shares from the founding family in a management buy-out and converted Genuport into a stock corporation in 1996 . The company's name is derived from the combination of " Genu " In ssmittel "and port from". In June 2017, Genuport Trade AG was transformed into a limited liability company.
