history
The family company, now in its third generation, was founded in 1910 by Oscar R. Kambly. He began making the first pretzel biscuits based on a recipe from his grandmother in 1906. In 1910 Oscar R. Kambly took over the business of his former master baker, thereby laying the foundation for today's biscuit factory in Trubschachen.
In 1953 the company management passed to Oscar J. Kambly. He combined his knowledge of industrial production in England with the artisanal art of chocolate and confectionery in Switzerland and introduced modern technologies in biscuit production. Since 1983 the company has been under the management of Oscar A. Kambly, who oriented the company internationally and promoted export. In 1999, with the purchase of the former Arni AG, an additional production site was added in Lyss , which was closed in 2013. At the turn of the year 2015/2016, Kambly acquired the Tekrum plant in Ravensburg from the Griesson deBeukelaer Group . The main aim of the takeover was to facilitate market access to the EU in view of the changed exchange rates between the Swiss franc and the euro. The handover took place on January 1, 2017.
From June 2020, Oscar A. Kambly III will hand over the chairmanship of the management to Nils Kambly, Dania Kambly's husband. Oscar A. Kambly's daughter has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2011.
