Dain (unit)

Dain was an Indian measure of length and corresponded to the mile in Pegu and Ava , regions in what is now Myanmar . The Reichselle Sadang as a smaller measure was a variable unit, since every ruler always made a new determination. At the beginning of the 19th century was

  • 1 Sadang = 248 Parisian lines = 559.44 millimeters (= 5/9 meters = 0.5555 meters )
  • 1 Dain = 1000 Dhan / Bamboo = 7000 Sadang (Reichselle) = about 3890 meters
