Dakar (actor)
Dakar (actually Alejandro Barrera ; born July 9, 1921 in Cuzco , † September 14, 2004 in Rome ) was a Peruvian wrestler and actor .
Life
Barrera fought as a wrestler and catcher under the name "Joe Dakar". During a European tour in 1964 he was engaged by producer Solly V. Bianco for an acting role as "Kammamuri" in a Salgari film adaptation and was from then on as an exotic element in many adventure and other genre films of Italian production, but also for Federico Fellini , seen until the early 1980s.
