Dalaruan was a whiskey distillery in Campbeltown , Argyll and Bute , Scotland . It belonged to the Campbeltown whiskey region .

The distillery was founded in 1824 by Charles Colvill. Like Charles' son David Colvill, who founded the Dalintober distillery a few years later, Daniel Greenlees, who also owned parts of the Hazelburn distillery, was one of the partners. In 1838, John McMurchy, founder of the Burnside distillery , joined the business. In 1922 the operation was stopped and in 1925 the stocks were auctioned. In the meantime, the former distillery buildings have been demolished to make room for residential buildings.

When Alfred Barnard visited the distillery in 1885 as part of his whiskey tour, described later, it had an annual production capacity of 112,000  gallons . There were the stills with a capacity of 2750, 1886 or 850 gallons are available. It is not noted whether this was a coarse still ( wash still ) and two fine stills ( spirit stills ) or whether the whiskey was distilled three times. A malt whiskey was produced which found buyers in London , on the Scottish west coast and the British colonies.
