Dalip Kryeziu (born June 18, 1964 in Bubavec ) is a contemporary Austrian artist of Kosovar-Albanian descent.

Life

Dalip Kryeziu uses his first name as a stage name. He spent his childhood in an extended village family. After eight years of elementary school, he moved with the entire family to the city of Klina to attend high school there. He started drawing from the age of 11. Under the influence of an uncle, an academic painter, Dalip's turn to art increased. A summer stay in Poreč, during which he came into contact with the portrait artists in the port, was decisive for him to devote himself entirely to art. After studying at the Pedagogical Academy in Gjakova and the English University in Prishtina between 1986 and 1988, he traveled to numerous European countries and earned his living by making portraits. In 1988 he came to Austria, whose citizenship he received a few years later. In 1989 it was accepted into the Association of Visual Artists in Austria by the Vienna Commission. In the same year he was accepted into the professional association for artists in Carinthia. Two years later he was represented with several first exhibitions in Austria. This was followed by numerous international exhibitions and appearances at international art fairs such as the graphic fair in Leipzig in 1994, the “Arte fiera Cornice” in Venice in 2007, and the Prague Biennale in 2009. He has lived in Germany since 2006. He is also represented in the following public collections: Museum der Moderne Salzburg , Oberhessisches Museum Gießen, Allianz Hamburg, Deutsche Bank , Credit Suisse

Dalip Kryeziu is a contemporary visual artist. In his painterly work he deals on the one hand with the transformation of the human head, up to and including barely legible abstract forms. On the other hand, he processes his sketch sheets, which he creates almost daily, into additive works, which he then revises after applying them to canvases. In addition to his painterly and graphic work, Dalip also works three-dimensionally. So far, numerous bronzes have been created that deal with the human figure and especially the human face.
