The  Dallas Vigilantes  were an  arena football team from Dallas, Texas that played in the  Arena Football League  (AFL). The Vigilantes played their home games at the American Airlines Center .

history

The Vigilantes (German: Bürgerwehr) were founded in 2009 and started playing for the 2010 season in the AFL.

After a first season with only three wins, they reached the playoffs in the second year.

At the end of the 2011 season, the franchise was no longer listed as a member of the AFL for the 2012 season. There was no official statement from the club or the league that the vigilantes had withdrawn. However, it is believed that the franchise has dissolved. The official homepage has been deleted.

The Vigilantes were the AFL's third franchise to be based in Dallas after the Dallas Texans and the Dallas Desperados .
