Daly is a small impact crater in the eastern half of the moon , northwest of Apollonius crater . The formation is approximately circular and has a slight, inward indentation on the northern edge. The crater wall is thicker in the south than in the north. The crater covers the equally large Apollonius F in its east-southeast area.

Daly was identified as Apollonius P before it was given its own designation by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) in 1973 .
