Life and work

DiDio began in the 1980s as an editor at the American television stations CBS (1981) and ABC (1985), where he was entrusted with the management of the weekday morning soap operas produced in New York City as Public Relations Manager. He later moved to ABC's Los Angeles office as executive director of ABC's children's program.

This was followed by several years as a freelance writer and editor for the Mainframge Entertainment group, where he worked on projects such as ReBoot and War Planets and was finally promoted to vice-president of the department for "Creative Affairs".

In 2002 DiDio began working as an editor for the comic book publisher DC-Comics , which he has been Vice President since 2005 with responsibility as the executive editor for the mainstream titles of the publishing program ("Executive Editor DC Universe section"). As an editor, DiDio was voted "Man of the Year 2003" by the industry magazine Wizard on the one hand because of the creative direction he took with the titles he oversees , but on the other hand he has also drawn extensive criticism from readers who are above all inflamed by the tendency attributed to him to regularly let long-lived, and more or less popular, characters "die".

On February 21, 2020, DiDio resigned after ten years as co-editor of DC Comics. The company did not provide a reason for the move, nor did it indicate whether it was his or the company's decision. The progress is in a series of restructurings that began in the previous month and several top executives were laid off from the company.
