Dancing Queen is an eight-episode American reality TV series starring drag queen Alyssa Edwards (actually Justin Johnson), which debuted worldwide on Netflix on October 5, 2018 .

The series tells the story of Justin Johnson - better known by the name of his drag persona Alyssa Edwards. Johnson lives in Mesquite , Texas and runs his own, multi-award-winning dance studio, the Beyond Belief Dance Company . Everyday work is characterized by many challenges. Johnson has to deal with angry mothers who believe he is treating their ambitious children too harshly. There are also disputes between the mothers and the dance teacher Marcella, as a result of which Marcella leaves the Beyond Belief Dance Company . The series also accompanies the dance troupe to several appearances, including in Los Angeles .
In addition to his everyday professional life, Johnson has to solve private problems in the family, wants to find a partner and can be accompanied when moving to his new house. He receives support from his drag daughters Laganja Estranja and Shangela Laquifa Wadley .
